urban trappist brewery

image blended from Rain King, DNotS, and MWD

Biography

After hearing that Thomas Hardy's Ale is made from a blend of six different beers, and noticing that I had three unbottled brews waiting, I decided to play Mixmaster Molnar. The difference between Thomas Hardy and my Remixed Ale/Lager is that his components are probably crafted to merge happily. Mine combined about as peacefully as magnesium and water.

Creation

No specific brewing; I just poured from the carboys into a mixing jug.

Stats

Style: Bastard
Bases:
Rain King Ale, Men Who Dreamed, Dark Night of the Soul
Color: Black Cherry
Head: Barry Bonds
Flavors: Basically, the sum of its parts. Rain King is far too strong, which really rains on this potential parade. Were it just Men Who Dreamed and Dark Night of the Soul, I would probably have enjoyed this greatly, as it would have become a smoother, richer version of Men Who Dreamed. As it is, I wasted what could have become precious bottles of Oak Aged DNotS.
