urban trappist work

Alas, labora is very much a part of Urban Trappistry, necessitated by the cost of living in the city and the implausibility of subsistence farming in an apartment. Due to federal regulations, the Trappist tradition of brewing beer is only permissible as a hobby. So other wages and sins must be pursued.

Entering a monastery is discerned by a process of coming to know one's vocation. I have tried to do that, but all I got was this stupid website and an urge to write, the satisfaction of which will hopefully result in satisfaction of my urges to eat, sleep, drink, etc.

Consequently, you can click around in here and see whatever havoc I am wreaking. As you may notice, it's currently pretty sparse. I'm a slow starter. Just ask my track coaches.

Future labors (optimistically) include youth devotionals, freelance submissions (see Free Samples!) for topical interests and past performance, which is hopefully not an indicator of future failure), fun on this site, and maybe some stringing for newspapers. Pessimistically, labors will be waiting snobby tables or tutoring bratty kids (probably the progeny of the rich restaurant-goers).
